the story behind louise man art

Louise Man Art is a homewares, cards and stationery brand created in 2020.

Taking inspiration from nature on daily walks with our dog, each design starts with a watercolour sketch. The sketches are then edited digitally to create the finished design. To bring each design to life, I work with small manufacturers around the UK to transform the sketches into homewares and stationery products, such as thick, luxurious tea towels, quality fine bone china mugs, large cushions, napkins and ceramic Christmas decorations - plus many more products.

Seeing the original sketch come to life as a homewares product is immensely exciting and I hope every customer gets the same amount of pleasure from their purchases as I do in creating them.

As well as creating homewares products from my paintings, I love to paint in oils, acrylics and watercolours. You can find some of my original artworks here on my website. I love the magic of watercolours, preferring a loose style that lets the transparency of the watercolours show through.

I run watercolour classes at local art groups where I share the techniques and skills I’ve picked up over the years, with subject matter including birds and flowers, landscapes and still life.

I live in Thaxted, North Essex with my husband, two children and our dog Maya.
